Back to black and white !

With color, you have to deal with a lot of problems. With B&W... Same thing. There are tons of inconsistencies in terms of contrast, balance of forms, etc. but I'll improve. Hopefully !

Based on a sketch by Gael Dumont, set in the Afro Wild Zombi Universe, a comic book project we are working on. It's on hiatus for the moment, but we'll be back soon !

Quick drawing of a girl

Just something I whipped up during lunchbreak.

Nothing too fancy, or original. I'm only trying to use sweet colors for once and get away from those awful pee and poo colors I'm used to.

It started as a little drawing. I haven't been drawing at all these days and it really shows.

Then, I thought : "I mainly do line drawing. That's so lazy, I'm not even trying... Heck ! I'ma put some colours !"

It doesn't look pretty, but it has a lot more substance than the sloppy drawing above. Up to this point, I still have no idea what I'm doing. I feel so uncomfortable when I have to do color. So I proceeded to do some blending.

Her face seemed kind of flat. So I changed the lighting (it's also more consistent with the shadows).

Some touches here and there. And that's about it.

There are parts of her face that don't read clearly, I squashed the back of her head (something I don't normally do), the lighting is erratic... It's not polished at all and it's full of mistakes. I'm SO out of practice.

I'll do better next time.

New resolutions : I have to work a lot more, and harder !

That's maybe 1/20th of the scribbles I've done this year. I should post more frequently !

Time to get started on new things, projects... And finish all the stuff that's been sleeping in my drawers for years.

Alexandre Pompon

Pom Pom Pom... Here is another one of my classmates, Alexandre Dupont.

Just like Nolwenn, he was part of the team on "Violeta Parra, El Corazon de Chile".

He used to be the drummer for the death metal band ColdWinterBurn. Also, he looks a little bit like Jesus.

Just a wip. The design is going to change, I'm just experimenting a little bit with this character.

Bon Chic Mauvais Genre - 3

Avec le recul, je trouve mes affiches vraiment cheap, surtout quand on voit ce que certains sont capables de faire dans le registre "vintage". Je ne peux pas dire que le résultat soit à la hauteur de mes espérances, mais c'était amusant quand même.

Et pour finir, la toute première affiche...

Bon, on dira que "ça fait le boulot" mais sur le moment, j'étais persuadé que c'était bon.
